The short version
- Every game is either certified-RNG or live-dealt on camera; demo and real play use the same odds.
- RTP is a long-run average, not a promise about your session; volatility describes how bumpy sessions are.
- Your limits apply to every game and beat every promotion.
- Completed rounds always settle; malfunctions void the affected play and return stakes.
- The rule sheet and paytable inside each game are the binding ones.
Game families
1. How games work here
Every game on theScore Casino is either a random-number-generator (RNG) game, where a certified algorithm decides each outcome, or a live dealer game, where the outcome comes from physical cards, wheels or dice handled by a dealer on camera. Both kinds are tested by an independent laboratory before release and monitored afterwards under the operator’s Ontario registration.
Demo and real play
Every game opens in demo mode with play money and no account. Real-money play needs a verified account, a completed Ontario location check and a bet inside your limits. Demo and real play use the same game logic and the same published return to player.
Return to player and volatility
Return to player (RTP) is the share of all money wagered that a game returns over millions of rounds; a 96.0% RTP keeps 4.0% over the very long run and says nothing about a single session. Volatility describes how bumpy sessions tend to be: low volatility pays small amounts often, high volatility pays rarely and larger. Both are shown on each game’s facts panel; the certified figure inside the game prevails over any figure in the lobby.
Stakes, limits and maximum wins
Each game shows its minimum and maximum bet per hand, spin or round. Some games cap the amount a single round can pay; that cap is stated in the game’s paytable. Your own deposit, loss, wager and time limits apply to every game and override any promotion.
Malfunctions, disconnections and errors
- A round that completed is settled even if your connection dropped; the result is in your history.
- An unfinished round is resolved by the game server under the game’s own rules; for most slots it completes with the outcome already drawn, for live tables the dealer’s result stands.
- A confirmed malfunction voids the affected play and pay: stakes go back to your balance and any winnings from the faulty round are removed.
- An obvious pricing or display error (for example a paytable that shows an impossible pay) does not create an entitlement; the certified paytable applies.
Where the binding rules live
This page explains each game family in plain language. The rule sheet and paytable behind the information button inside each game are the ones that apply to that game, and they may differ in detail from the family description below.

2. Blackjack
Objective: beat the dealer with a hand closer to 21 without going over. Cards 2 to 10 count face value, jacks, queens and kings count 10, aces count 1 or 11.
How a hand plays
- Place a bet; you and the dealer receive two cards, one dealer card face up.
- An ace plus a ten-value card is a blackjack. A player blackjack against a dealer non-blackjack pays as the table states (3 to 2 on standard tables).
- Choose to hit (take a card), stand, double (double the bet, take exactly one card), split a pair into two hands, or surrender where offered (give up half the bet).
- The dealer then draws to a fixed rule: stands on all 17s or hits soft 17, as stated on the table.
- Closest to 21 wins even money; ties push; over 21 busts.
Insurance and side bets
When the dealer shows an ace you may take insurance for half your bet; it pays 2 to 1 if the dealer has blackjack. Side bets such as Perfect Pairs or 21+3, and the Blue Jays side bet on Blue Jays Blackjack, settle independently of the main hand at the odds printed on the table.
What varies by table
Number of decks, whether the dealer hits soft 17, doubling after a split, re-splitting aces, surrender, and blackjack pay (3 to 2 or 6 to 5) all vary and are listed in the table rules. Multi-hand tables let you play up to three hands at once against one dealer hand.
- Goal
- Closer to 21 than the dealer
- Blackjack pays
- 3 to 2 on standard tables
- Insurance
- 2 to 1

- Decks, soft 17, surrender
3. Roulette
European roulette has 37 pockets (0 and 1 to 36); American roulette adds a 00 for 38 pockets, which raises the house edge. Bets are placed on the layout before the ball drops; the pocket the ball rests in decides every bet.
| Bet | Wins when | Pays |
|---|---|---|
| Straight up | one number | 35 to 1 |
| Split | either of two adjacent numbers | 17 to 1 |
| Street | any of three numbers in a row | 11 to 1 |
| Corner | any of four numbers | 8 to 1 |
| Six line | any of six numbers | 5 to 1 |
| Dozen or column | twelve numbers | 2 to 1 |
| Red / black, odd / even, 1-18 / 19-36 | eighteen numbers | 1 to 1 |
Zero and double zero are not red or black, odd or even, high or low; those bets lose when the ball lands there unless the table applies a special rule. Racetrack bets (voisins, orphelins, tiers, neighbours) place several straight-up and split bets in one click. Auto roulette spins a physical wheel on a fixed timer with no dealer; the betting window closes a few seconds before each spin.

4. Baccarat
Bet on Player, Banker or Tie. Two cards are dealt to each side; tens and face cards count 0, aces 1, other cards face value, and only the last digit of a total counts, so 7 + 8 is 5. A total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards is a natural and ends the hand.
Whether a third card is drawn follows fixed rules that you do not control: Player draws on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7; Banker draws according to its own total and the Player’s third card. The higher total wins.
| Bet | Wins when | Pays |
|---|---|---|
| Player | Player total higher | 1 to 1 |
| Banker | Banker total higher | 1 to 1 less commission (usually 5%), or as the table states |
| Tie | totals equal | as the table states (8 to 1 is common) |
| Pairs and other side bets | as printed | as printed |
Squeeze tables let you reveal your cards slowly; the reveal changes nothing about the outcome. Roads (bead plate, big road) show past results for entertainment and are not predictions.

5. Craps
Two dice are rolled. The first roll of a round is the come-out roll. A Pass Line bet wins on 7 or 11, loses on 2, 3 or 12, and otherwise sets a point (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10). Once a point is set, Pass Line wins if the point rolls again before a 7 and loses on a 7. Don’t Pass is the opposite, with 12 a push on the come-out.
- Come / Don’t Come work like Pass / Don’t Pass but start on any roll after a point is set.
- Odds bets back a Pass or Come bet at true odds with no house edge, up to the table’s multiple.
- Place bets pick a number to roll before a 7; Field, Hardways and single-roll bets pay as printed on the layout.
A round ends when the point is made or a 7 rolls (a seven-out). Online, the game rolls automatically once bets are set; live craps uses real dice on camera.

6. Casino poker & stud
Casino poker games are played against the dealer, not other players. Hand ranks follow standard poker: royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair, high card.
Casino Hold’em style
- Place an ante; you receive two cards and three community cards are dealt.
- Call (usually twice the ante) to see the last two community cards, or fold and lose the ante.
- The dealer needs a qualifying hand (as stated, often a pair of fours or better); if the dealer does not qualify the ante pays as printed and the call pushes. Otherwise the best five-card hand wins.
Stud style
- Place an ante; you receive five cards and the dealer shows one.
- Raise (usually twice the ante) or fold.
- The dealer qualifies with the hand stated on the table (often ace-king or better). Raises on strong hands pay by a printed schedule; a progressive side bet, where offered, pays for a flush or better regardless of the dealer’s hand.
Bonus bets settle on your own cards only. Exact qualifiers and pay schedules differ between games and are printed on each table.

7. Video poker
Five cards are dealt from a single shuffled 52-card deck (53 with a joker where stated). Choose which cards to hold, then draw once; the cards you did not hold are replaced. The final five-card hand is paid from the paytable above the cards.
- Jacks or Better pays from a pair of jacks upward.
- Deuces Wild treats every 2 as a wild card; the paytable starts at three of a kind and adds hands such as four deuces and wild royal flush.
- Betting the maximum coins (usually five) unlocks the top pay for a natural royal flush; the paytable shows the pay at every coin level.
Video poker RTP depends on the paytable and on strategy. The figure on the game facts panel assumes optimal play.

8. Slots
A slot pays when matching symbols land on a payline or, on ways-to-win games, on adjacent reels from left to right. The paytable inside each game lists every symbol value, the paylines or ways, the bonus triggers and any maximum win.
Feature glossary
- Free spins
- A set of spins at the triggering bet without further stake, often with extra wilds or multipliers.
- Multipliers
- Multiply a line win, a spin win or the whole bonus by the stated factor.
- Wilds
- Substitute for other symbols; expanding, sticky and walking wilds behave as the paytable describes.
- Cascades
- Winning symbols are removed and new ones fall in, allowing several wins from one spin.
- Hold & win
- Special symbols lock in place while the remaining positions respin a fixed number of times; filling the screen usually awards the top prize.
- Bonus buy
- Enter the feature directly for a stated multiple of the current bet; the RTP of a bought feature is shown separately where it differs.
- Progressive jackpot
- A prize that grows with a small share of every qualifying bet until it is won; see Jackpots.
- Collect & win
- Coins or cards accumulate across spins toward a bonus; the meter shows progress and any expiry.
Turbo and autoplay options change speed only, never odds. Autoplay stops when you reach a limit you set, when your balance changes by the amount you chose, and always at a reality check.

9. Live dealer
Live tables are dealt by a person in a studio and streamed with a delay of a few seconds. Bets are placed during the betting window; when the dealer closes it, bets placed after that moment are void and returned. The dealer’s result on camera is the result of the round.
- Seats: blackjack tables have seven seats and casino poker six; roulette, baccarat and craps have no seat limit.
- Bet behind: when a blackjack table is full, you may bet on a seated player’s hand; their decisions apply to your bet.
- Chat: dealer chat is moderated. Abuse, harassment, or asking dealers for personal information ends your access to chat and may close your account.
- Interruptions: if a stream fails, the round is settled from the studio record. If a physical error occurs (a card exposed early, a wheel fault), the round is void and bets are returned.
Scheduled tables show an opening time in the lobby; a Remind me link sends a notification when the table opens.

10. Jackpots
A progressive jackpot grows by a small percentage of every qualifying bet on the games linked to it until it is won, then resets to a seed amount. Tiered jackpots (Mini, Minor, Major, Grand) run several pools at once; the game states which bets qualify and whether the jackpot is awarded randomly, by a bonus feature or by a symbol combination.
- Jackpot amounts in the lobby update from the game servers and are rounded for display; the amount at the moment of the win is the amount paid.
- A jackpot won during a malfunctioning round is subject to the malfunction rule above.
- Where a jackpot is shared across several operators, the pool’s own terms state how a simultaneous win is split.

11. Fairness, testing & disputes
RNG outcomes are generated by certified software that cannot be influenced by bet size, time of day, previous results or account history. Live dealer equipment is inspected and card shoes are replaced on a schedule. Game providers and their laboratories publish RTP and certification details; the operator makes them available on request.
If you believe a round settled wrongly, note the game, the round ID from your history and the time, and contact support. Every round is logged and can be replayed from the server record. Complaints follow the complaints and escalation process.

Rules described here are the standard forms of each game. Every table and every slot states its own variant inside the game; that statement applies.
